Newly designated Secretary of National Defense Mr. Carlito Galvez Jr. visited the troops of the Philippine Army on January 18, 2023 at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
The Philippine Army personnel, led by Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., welcomed the Secretary through a Command Briefing where Secretary Galvez advised the Army officers to take care of the soldiers' welfare, the organization's resources, and the organization as a whole to improve its capacity to serve the Filipino People.
Sec. Galvez, a former Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff and a member of the Philippine Military Academy "Sandiwa" Class of 1985, was appointed as the new Secretary of National Defense on January 9, 2023.
