The Commanding General Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. led the donning of ranks to the 13 newly promoted generals in a ceremony on January 20, 2023 at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
The 1st Infantry Division Commander Brig. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete and 5th Infantry Division Commander Brig. Gen. Audrey L. Pasia was promoted to the rank of Major General while eleven Army Colonels were promoted to Brigadier General.
Among the promotees were Col. Ferdinand B. Napuli, Col. Oriel L. Pangcog, Col. Perfecto P. Peñaredondo, Col. Lenart R. Lelina, Col. Rommel B. Almaria, Col. Edmundo G. Peralta, Col. Leodevic B. Guinid, Col. Joel M. Paloma, Col. Noel A. Vestuir, Col. Francis Anthony M. Coronel, and Col. Michael A. Santos.
Lt. Gen. Brawner congratulated the newly promoted generals during the ceremony and expressed his optimism that the organization will continue to thrive on challenges in accomplishing its mission with the help of its leaders.
"The Philippine Army recognizes the valuable contributions and endeavors of our generals which have enhanced our operational tempo that directly support our core purpose of serving the people and securing the land. I am proud to have witnessed the celebration of another significant milestone in your career. I hope that your rank will motivate you and your people to accomplish more for the Army and the country," said Lt. Gen. Brawner.
