The Philippine Army Arnis team emerged as the Champion for all nine categories in the SGM Cacoy Cañete World International Filipino Martial Arts 2023, copping 17 gold, 12 silver, and 10 bronze medals on August 06, 2023 at Sports Club, Cebu City.
The tournament is conducted every 2 years to showcase arnis, which is known as the traditional Filipino Martial Arts, as well as to celebrate its rich culture. A total of 360 players from the country and abroad, including Reunion Island, Poland, Germany, Australia, Taiwan, New Zealand and Costa Rica participated in the event.
The Army leadership commended the Philippine Army Arnis team for giving their best effort to win in the Arnis tournament which reflects the values of excellence and teamwork that are integral to the Army.
