Philippine Army clinches two GADtimpala Bronze Awards

The Philippine Army received two GADtimpala Bronze Awards from the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) in an awarding ceremony on August 14, 2023 at Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premier, Taguig City.

The PCW conferred two GADtimpala bronze awards for the Philippine Army as an Outstanding Gender-Responsive Agency for its exceptional performance in gender mainstreaming and effective implementation of gender-responsive programs and the exemplary GAD Focal Point System for catalyzing to promote gender equality in the whole organization.

The GADtimpala or the “Gender and Development Transformation and Institutionalization through Mainstreaming of Programs, Agenda, Linkages, and Advocacies,” is an award and incentive system instituted by the PCW to recognize the outstanding performance of government agencies and their invaluable contribution to achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment within their mandate.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido expressed his appreciation to the PCW on recognizing the Army’s efforts in promoting gender equality in the organization, “Our duty as Army goes beyond the battlefield, it extends to creating a workplace in our organization that truly reflects the values we uphold. It means that every soldier, regardless of gender, finds their value, and acknowledges their potential. They’re adaptive to the times, recognizing that progress and equality go hand in hand,” the Army chief said.
