Philippine Army Marathon Team members copped two medals for a 7km run with (24) obstacles (male and female categories) in the Philippine Association of Military Surgeons (PAMS) Fun Run 2023 at Gaisano Mall, Iloilo City on August 19, 2023.
Army Marathon team members also clinched two silver medals for the 21km run (male) category and 7km run elite (male) category, while one bronze medal for the 7km run elite (female) category. Athletes from the General Headquarters AFP, Philippine Army, Philippine Navy, Philippine Airforce, Philippine National Police, and other civilian athletes competed in the tournament.
The Army leadership commended the Army Marathon Team for giving their best efforts in the PAMS Fun Run which stands as a vivid embodiment of the Army’s unyielding commitment to excellence and unity.
Philippine Army athletes, Sgt Aris Africa and Pfc Albert Valencia placed 1st and 2nd respectively for the 7km run with 24 obstacles (male) category, while Pfc Joy Albinio placed 1st for the same sports activity under the female category. Moreover, Cpl Rowell Hulleza placed 2nd for the 21km run (male) category while Cpl Eric Panique placed 3rd for the 10km run (male) category.
