Soldiers from the Philippine Army and other branches of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) received recognition during a Tribute to the Soldiers on August 28, 2023 at the Manila Hotel, Manila.
Vice President Sara Z. Duterte and AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. graced the event where the AFP and The Manila Times collaborated to recognize Ten Outstanding Filipino Soldiers for their contributions and sacrifices. Army Vice Commander Maj. Gen. Steve D. Crespillo represented Army Chief Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido during the event.
Among the awardees from the Philippine Army are Sgt. William Tello Jr. for his contribution to the combat zone, SSg. Roseller Gozo for Innovation in Administrative and Logistics, and Sgt. Ephraim Mission Jr. for Outstanding Community Service.
The Army Chief extended his appreciation to the organizers of the activity for their recognition of the soldiers’ commitment to national peace and development. He also commended the awardees for their achievement in their respective fields.
