The Philippine Army Dragon Warriors won a gold medal in the 200-meter small boat category in the 11th Korea Open Busan International Dragon Boat Festival which was conducted in Suyeong River, APEC Naru Park, Haeundae, Busan, Korea on September 01, 2023.
The Dragon Boat Festival, scheduled until September 04, 2023, is an annual event participated by dragon boat teams from different countries. A total of 16 teams from 12 countries including the United States, Philippines, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, Guam, Malaysia, Qatar, China, Canada, and Hongkong join and compete in the two category races (200mtrs and 500mtrs) this year.
The Army leadership commended the Army Dragon Warriors for their dedicated preparation and for giving their best during the Dragon Boat festival which resulted in winning the top place in their category. This reflects that the team embodied the values of excellence and teamwork that are integral to the organization.
