Philippine, Australian troops execute ground assault operations during Exercise Carabaroo in Australia

The troops of the 99th Infantry Battalion under the operational control of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, Philippine Army and 5th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment and 1st Combat Engineer Regiment of the Australian Army executed ground assault operation during the Exercise Carabaroo 2023 at the Channel Island, Northern Territory, Australia on September 3, 2023.
 
All platoons of Philippine and Australian Army troops put their battle plan into action as they defeated the enemy forces, showing agility and expertise. The assault exercise tested the capability of multiple nations to cooperate and engage together against an emerging threat.
 
Exercise Carabaroo 2023 is a three-week bilateral exercise which conducts dismounted infantry operations in urban terrain. It strengthens tactical coordination and increases survivability, lethality, command, and control within the urban environment while enhancing the interoperability of multinational combined arms teams.
