The Commanding General, Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido led the send-off ceremony of 184 new second lieutenants on September 22, 2023, at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
The newly-commissioned lieutenants came from the Officer Candidate Course (OCC) Class 57-2022 and Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Bagsik-Diwa” Class of 2022 who will be deployed to various units of the Army and will lead on the frontlines during combat operations against the CPP-NPA Terrorists, Local Terrorist Groups, and other security threats.
“Not all of you will be captains, not all of you will be majors, and not all of you will stay long in the service but if you want to serve longer, you must work well,” said Lt. Gen. Galido in his speech.
