Army reserve forces hailed at the 44th National Reservist Week

The various reserve forces of the Philippine Army were bestowed with appropriate awards during the 44th National Reservist Week on September 30, 2023, at the Lapulapu Grandstand, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
 
Anchored on the theme, "AFP Reserve Force: Moving towards resilient force posture", the culmination program gave honors to the various reserve units of the Armed Forces of the Philippines who demonstrated their selfless service to the country and to the people. Different major services also conducted their gallery exhibits and capability demonstrations to showcase their readiness and preparedness when the country deals with a crisis.
 
The activity was attended by the Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. and the Guest of Honor and Speaker Department of National Defense Secretary Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. The defense secretary commended the AFP reservists who have been instrumental in responding to natural disasters, providing humanitarian assistance, and supporting internal security operations as well as territorial defense operations. Sec. Teodoro also highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts and partnership of the AFP’s major services and reserve units, “Hopefully, we can come up with a synergy – ready and relevant reserve forces that would lay the foundations for building and adapting with the changing environment as needed in the future,” the defense secretary said.
