Defense and Air Attachés of Thailand to the Philippines visit HPA

The Outgoing Defense and Air Attaché of Thailand to the Philippines Group Captain Soonthorn Pongampai and Incoming Defense and Air Attaché Group Captain Nirut Rattanajanya rendered a joint exit and introductory call to Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on October 2, 2023.

Lt. Gen. Galido conveyed his gratitude to Capt. Soonthorn for his dedicated service and successful diplomacies as Defense and Air Attaché of Thailand to the Philippines. He also extended his warm felicitations to Capt. Nirut for his new post and vowed to collaborate with the attaché regarding future cooperation with the Royal Thai Army.

The Philippines and Thailand began their official relations on June 14, 1949, upon the signing of the Treaty of Friendship in Washington D.C., United States of America. The courtesy call gave an opportunity for both Armies to discuss more defense cooperation and opportunities for expanded military engagements between the Philippines and Thailand.
