The Philippine Army, together with the Philippine National Police (PNP), successfully ensured a safe and secured All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day by providing security assistance in different areas of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao from October 31 to November 2, 2023,
In Luzon, the Headquarters Philippine Army troops facilitated and provided security to a total of 84,300 visitors who paid their respect to their departed loved ones during the observance of Undas at the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
In Visayas, the 79th Infantry Battalion (79IB), under the operational control of the 3rd Infantry Division (3ID), also deployed its troops in all public and private cemeteries of Northern Negros to augment the PNP to ensure the safety of visitors. They also conducted some safety reminder announcements and provided the visiting public with hotline numbers to contact in case of any emergencies.
In Mindanao, the 48th Infantry Battalion (48IB), under the operational control of the 10th Infantry Division (10ID), acted as force multipliers in facilitating the visiting public, administering first aid assistance, providing manpower in traffic management, and performing other duties to maintain orderliness in the cemeteries in Bukidnon.
The Army leadership lauded the Army troops for exerting extra effort to go beyond their duty in order to ensure the safety and security of the visiting public as they pay their respect to their departed loved ones in line with the celebration of the Undas 2023 in different areas of the country.
