Army installs new Chief Public Affairs

The Philippine Army installed a new Army Chief Public Affairs in a Joint Change of Chiefs of Office and Assumption Ceremony with the Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Potenciano C. Camba as Presiding Officer at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on November 07, 2023.
 
Lt. Col. Louie G. Dema-ala takes the helm as the new Chief of the Army Public Affairs Office. Prior to his designation, he served as the Executive Officer of the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Plans (OG5), Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, G7 of the 10th Infantry Division (10ID), and Commander of the 67th Infantry Battalion, 10ID. Lt. Col. Dema-Ala also holds a Master's in Strategic Human Resource Management from the University of Wollonggong in Australia.
 
Meanwhile, Col. Xerxes A. Trinidad, the outgoing Army Chief Public Affairs, has been recently appointed as the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief Public Affairs Office. His previous designations include the Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, G7 of the 4th Infantry Division (4ID), Commanding Officer of the 36th Infantry Battalion, 4ID, and Executive Officer of the 402nd Infantry Brigade, 4ID. Col. Trinidad is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Marilag” Class of 1995. He holds a Master's in National Security Administration from the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP).
 
In his remarks, the Army Chief of Staff expressed his confidence in Lt. Col. Dema-ala and reminded him of his new position, stating, "Lt. Col. Dema-ala, your task is to be the louder voice of the Army, louder voice so that we can gain the popular support the external stakeholders of the Philippine Army.”
