New Army International Military Affairs Chief assumes post

The Philippine Army installed Col. Tommy A. Deliva as the new Chief of the Office of the International Military Affairs (OIMA), replacing outgoing Chief OIMA Col. Von Albert M. Sumergido in a Joint Change of Chiefs of Office and Assumption Ceremony with the Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Potenciano C. Camba as Presiding Officer at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on November 07, 2023.
 
Col. Tommy A. Deliva, prior to his designation, served as the Chief of the Office of the Secretary of Army General Staff (OSAGS). He also held various key positions such as the Chief of the Governance and Strategy Management Office (GSMO) of the 9th Infantry Division; Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, G3, OG3, 9ID; Battalion Commander of the 83rd Infantry Battalion, 9ID; and Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence, G2, 9ID. Col. Deliva is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Marilag” Class of 1995.
 
Meanwhile, the outgoing Chief OIMA Col. Von Albert M. Sumergido, has been newly appointed as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Education and Training, G8 on the same day. He is also a graduate of PMA “Marilag” Class of 1995. He held various command and staff positions in the Armor Division, 2nd Infantry Division, Training and Doctrine Command, Presidential Security Group, and Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Plans, Philippine Army (OG5, PA).
 
The Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Potenciano C. Camba, in his remarks, expressed his confidence in Col. Deliva and reminded the significance of his position in building cooperation "Col. Deliva, nurture and strengthen more our bilateral and multilateral cooperation with our allies. With more allies, we are stronger,” he remarked.
