The Commanding General Philippine Army (CGPA), Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido, bestowed meritorious awards to all the Army soldier athletes who have performed exemplary in various sports events in the 2023 Armed Forces of the Philippines-Philippine National Police-Philippine Coast Guard- Bureau of Fire- Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (AFP-PNP-PCG-BFP-BJMP) Olympics during the awarding ceremony on November 13, 2023, at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Team Army emerged as the four-time overall champion in the recently concluded Military and Uniformed Personnel Olympics 2023. Following the Army in the overall standings are the Philippine Air Force as the 1st Runner-up and the Philippine Navy as the 2nd Runner-up.
Likewise, it can also be noted that the Army dominated the 2018, 2019, and 2022 sports events. Lt. Gen. Galido commended the Army athletes for their display of great sportsmanship and camaraderie and for showcasing the Army's excellence in the field of sports.
