Philippine Army sustains the same spot - 3rd place in the 31st AARM

The Philippine Army Shooting Contingent (PASCON) retained as 3rd place among 10 contenders in the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) hosted by the Royal Thai Army at the Infantry Training Center, Fort Thanarat, Pran Buri District, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand on November 16-25, 2023.
 
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido attended the closing ceremony of the week-long 31st AARM wherein he congratulated the 25 Army shooters led by Col. William Victorino F. Upano. “I am honored and thrilled to recognize your successes and hardwork in the 31st AARM. All your perseverance serve as an inspiration and you set a very good example for everyone in the Philippine Army.”
 
The PASCON bagged a total of one perpetual trophy, 12 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals landing them in the same spot last year, 3rd place. Indonesia solidified its position as the overall champion while Vietnam closely followed in the 2nd position, who is the defending champion last 2022.
 
More than 400 pistol and rifle experts compete annually during the ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet which is established to foster professional goodwill, cooperation, and friendly competition between ten ASEAN countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Philippines will be the host for next year’s AARM.
