The Philippine Army joined in the celebration of the 88th Armed Forces of the Philippines' (AFP) Founding Anniversary through a simultaneous Inter-Faith prayer service and flag-raising ceremony at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, on December 21, 2023.
The event was graced by the presence of the Commanding General Philippine Army, Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido, and was attended by Army officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resource. Lt. Gen. Galido, in his capacity, conveyed the heartfelt message of the AFP Chief of Staff, Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr.
"Today's flag-raising ceremony is more than just a tradition. It symbolizes our commitment to safeguard and uphold our nation and people. Thus, let us remember as we unfurl the flag of our people's strength, resilience, and unity, which carry the weight of our misery, the sacrifices of those who came before us, and hope for a future generation. Thus, I give my profound gratitude to the men and women of the AFP for your sacrifices and services. May our spirit of service and diligence guide us as we strive to conquer and rise above the challenges that stand away," Lt. Gen. Galido delivered.
