NCRRCDG holds 1st ROTC Fancy Drill Competition

ROTC units from 14 Metro Manila-based universities and colleges showcased their masterful performance and showmanship of rifle drills during the 1st National Capital Region Regional Community Defense Group (NCRRCDG) ROTC Fancy Drill Competition held at the Headquarters Philippine Army Grandstand, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on April 7, 2024.
 
The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa ROTC Unit emerged as the champion while the Makati Science Technological Institute of the Philippines ROTC Unit and the UP Diliman ROTC Unit respectively clinched the first runner-up and second runner-up trophies.
 
“Your synchronized performance in your drills and the unyielding display of unity have set a remarkable standard for all future participants. Your victory stands as a testament to your hard work, dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence ,” Reserve Command, Philippine Army (RESCOM) Deputy Commander Brig. Gen. Samuel B. Manzano said in his closing remarks. Brig. Gen. Manzano also paid tribute to the young and brave cadets that were part of Hunters ROTC, the Filipino guerrillas who liberated the then-Fort McKinley from Japanese Imperial forces during World War II.
 
The Philippine Army leadership meanwhile lauded the more than 400 ROTC cadets who participated in the activity. The Army leadership likewise emphasized the importance of ROTC in contributing to nation-building by developing leaders, promoting community engagement, building character, and encouraging civic engagement that are vital in the overall well-being and development of the nation.
