U.S. Army helps capacitate Philippine Army combat engineers

The U.S. Army 54th Security Forces Assistance Brigade (SFAB) engineer advisor team conducted a tactical movement class for the Philippines Army’s Combat Engineer Regiment as part of the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center-Exportable (JPMRC-X) Exercise in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija from June 1 to June 10, 2024.

The U.S. Army advisers came to the Philippines to support and further capacitate the Philippine Army’s Combat Engineer Regiment. PA's Combat Engineer Regiment plays a vital role in providing mobility, counter mobility, and survivability to ground units during combat operations. Combat engineers also play a big role in disaster response operations.

The inaugural JPMRC-X Exercise introduces PA and USARPAC troops to tough and realistic training scenarios that are designed to challenge them tactically, as well as across language and procedural barriers. The said bilateral exercise also tests large-scale combat capabilities across various environments, fostering readiness and interoperability between Philippine and US ground forces.
