Philippine Army welcomes new Chief of Staff

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City - The Philippine Army welcomed Brig. Gen. Yegor Rey P. Barroquillo Jr. as the new Chief of Staff, Philippine Army (CSPA) in an Assumption Ceremony on November 27, 2024 at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The Commanding General Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido graced the event and extended his well wishes to the general for his new designation in the organization. The CGPA also recognized the Acting Chief of Staff, Philippine Army Maj. Gen. Ferdinand B. Napuli for his short but meaningful stint in the office.

Brig. Gen. Barroquillo is a member of the Philippine Military Academy "Tanglaw-Diwa" Class of 1992 and served as the Commander of the 103rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division prior to his new designation. The general also held significant positions in the Office of the Commanding General, Philippine Army, and the Office of the Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines, allowing him to equip himself with the necessary skills for the position.

During the ceremony, the CGPA acknowledged the incoming Chief of Staff's contribution to the Army and expressed his optimism for the CSPA's contribution to the Army's growth. "More than intelligence and operations, we must also adapt to fulfill our other roles at the Headquarters. Achieving our goal of transformation and organizational change is a collective effort, and remember, you are not alone in this mission. We are with you every step of the way," said the CGPA.
