The Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. lauded Junglefighters for their relentless campaign to bring peace and stability to their area of responsibility during his “Talk to Troops” at the headquarters of the 2nd Infantry “Junglefighter” Division (2ID) at Camp Capinpin, Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal on June 5, 2023.
Lt. Gen. Brawner, in his keynote message, lauded the operational gains of 2ID troops for the first five months of the year which resulted in the neutralization of 163 Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) combatants, capture of 145 CTG firearms, and the continuous dismantling of the CTG’s mass base in the Southern Tagalog Region and Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan (MIMAROPA).
The Army Chief likewise commended the Junglefighters for their crucial role in the declaration of stable internal peace and security in 32 towns of Quezon province, Baras and Tanay towns in Rizal, and Puerto Galera town in Oriental Mindoro.
The CGPA wrapped up his “Talk to Troops” by encouraging the men and women of 2ID to attain and realize the Philippine Army’s vision of becoming a world-class, multi-mission ready, and cross-domain capable ground force by 2040.
