FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army through the National Capital Region, Regional Community Defense Group (NCRRCDG) conducted the 12th Regional Annual Administrative Tactical Inspection (RAATI) here Sunday, March 11, 2018.
RAATI is a yearly activity where ROTC Cadets from different colleges and universities within the National Capital Region demonstrated their skills and training through a series of challenges composed of obstacle course, field stripping, map reading, firearms identification, and first aid, among others.
“The RAATI 2018 Platoon Challenge was designed to determine the readiness of every reservist. Its goal is to forge you ahead being the first line of defense of our country. Also, it taught you of the essence of “esprit de corps” which is essential in the accomplishment of any given tasks. The Philippine Army is certain that a capable, responsive, and mobile citizenry is vital component of the AFP. With your cooperation, commitment, and dedication, I am optimistic that we can attain this level the soonest,” said Lieutenant General Rolando Joselito D. Bautista, Commanding General Philippine Army.
This year, about 2,100 students from various schools in NCR joined the event. Among them, is the University of Santo Tomas which was hailed as the champion of the event. The Technological University of the Philippines and University of the Philippines Diliman settled for the first and second place respectively.
The Philippine Army, under the stewardship of Lt. Gen. Bautista aims continue its mission of developing a modern Army that is responsive and capable of addressing threats against its people and the sovereignty of the country. Part of this effort is strengthening of the Army reserve component that serves as force multipliers in times of exigencies.#
