BRIGADIER GENERAL NASSER PENDATUN LIDASAN O-11044 PA, a proud member of AFP Officer Candidate Course “Makatarungan” Class 08-1992, was designated as Assistant Division Commander of 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division and Joint Task Force Central on 22 June 2023 and rose to a star rank attributable to his untiring commitment to his duty and incomparable accomplishments.
Prior being a well-rounded military Officer, he studied at Notre Dame University and finished Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. In 1991, he passed the Licensure Examination administered by the Professional Regulation Commission and became a licensed civil engineer.
For more than 32 years in the military service, he held various significant positions which enabled him to develop his visionary leadership capabilities. Prior his present designation, he was the Senior Military Assistant to the Secretary of National Defense.
BRIGADIER GENERAL LIDASAN started his military career as a Platoon Leader in the 76th Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division; and 512th Engineering Construction Battalion, 55th Engineering Brigade. After which, he spent several years of his military service at the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) as Company Commander; Battalion S3; Executive Officer; and Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, G3. These designations to different tactical command and staff positions honed his potentials as a strategic thinker, planner, and a leader.
In 2007, his passion to develop tactically and technically proficient members of the armed forces was evident when he was assigned at the 4th Army Training Group, Training and Doctrine Command. BRIGADIER GENERAL LIDASAN also rendered staff duties at then Central Command, AFP as Executive Assistant; at the Office of the Commanding General, Philippine Army as Admin Officer; and at the Office of the Chief of Staff, AFP as Executive Assistant for Operations and Security.
As BRIGADIER GENERAL LIDASAN advanced through his military career, he was blessed with additional leadership opportunities in the Special Operations Command as the Commanding Officer of the 1st Special Forces Battalion in 2014, and 5th Special Forces Battalion in 2016. While rendering duty as CO of 5SFBn, he was also the concurrent Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil Military Operations (CMO), G7 of Kampilan Division. In 2017, he was reassigned to the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division and posted as Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, G3; and later became the Division Inspector General. Also, in 2020, he was designated as Chief of the Unified Command Staff (CUCS) of AFP’s Eastern Mindanao Command.
Apart from this, BRIGADIER GENERAL LIDASAN has undergone various military and civilian schoolings both local and abroad, to prepare himself for higher responsibilities. He completed his Master’s Degree in Conflict Resolution in 2006 as a Ford Foundation scholar at the University of Bradford, England. Moreover, in 2013, being a Fulbright Scholar, he finished his Doctor’s Degree in International Studies at the Old Dominion University in Virginia, USA.
As for his military schooling, he completed his Explosive Demolition and Landmine Warfare Course at the Engineer School, TRADOC graduating as number 2; Special Forces Operations Course graduating as number 3, Basic Airborne Course, Jump Master Course, and Military Free Fall Course at the Special Forces School; Infantry Officer Basic and Advance Courses at the Combat Arms School, TRADOC; Command and Staff Operations Law Course at the Asia Pacific Center for Military Law; and Command and General Staff Course at the AFP Command and General Staff College.
His valuable services and accomplishments were recognized through his awards and decorations which include Distinguished Conduct Star, the 2nd highest military award in the AFP; Distinguished Service Star, Meritorious Achievement Medal, Gold Cross Medals, Silver Cros Medal, Bronze Cross Medal, Silver Wing Medal, Military Merit Medals, Military Civic Action Medals, Military Commendation Medals, ribbons, badges, plaques, and Letters of Commendation and Appreciation both from military and civilian sectors. Recently, he received a Commendation and recognition from BARMM Parliament for being the first Muslim and a General appointed by the President, His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. as Chairman of the GPH Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities.
BRIGADIER GENERAL NASSER PENDATUN LIDASAN O-11044 PA is a loving husband of the former Rhea Jean Castro and they were blessed with three daughters named Sameera Sophia, Rhean Natalie, and Nazlie Scarlett.
