BRIGADIER GENERAL EDUARDO BAUTISTA GUBAT O-10531 PHILIPPINE ARMY is currently the Assistant Division Commander of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division, Philippine Army who assumed position on 16 April 2022. He is a proud member of Philippine Military Academy “Sambisig” Class of 1991 who rose to a star rank attributable to his untiring commitment to his duty and incomparable accomplishments.

From 07 October 2020 to 16 April 2022, BGEN GUBAT was the Brigade Commander of 603rd Infantry (Persuader) Brigade spearheading the campaign against the CTG elements and of the BIFF in the Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and Maguindanao Provinces.

He demonstrated the finest ideals of military professionalism and discipline in the early years of his military service as Platoon Leader, Company Commander, Operations Officer, and Intelligence Officer of 40th Infantry Battalion, 6ID, PA; and as a staff at HPA & GHQ (OJ3).

As he advanced in his illustrious military career, BGEN GUBAT sought to increase his knowledge and skills as he embarked on the challenges attendant to his professional life by attending military and civilian courses such as: Infantry Officer Basic Course graduating as number 4, Field Artillery Officer Advance Course graduating as number 2, Intel Officer Course graduating as number 3, and Masters of Public Management at the Ateneo de Manila University, and at Development Academy of the Philippines.

Aside from his military schoolings locally, he also studied several courses abroad such as Australian Military Familiarization Course at the Defence International Training Center, and Direct Fire Support Weapons Course in an Infantry School in Australia in 1999; and UN Military Observer and Staff Officer Course at the Center for United Nations Peacekeeping, New Delhi, India in 2007.

In 2010, he took Command and General Staff Course at the AFP Command and General Staff College where he graduated as number 3 and was awarded with Athletic Excellence Award; Academic Center Award; and Honor Graduate Award.

Furthermore, BGEN GUBAT effectively and efficiently performed in various command and staff positions such as Deputy G2, 10ID; Battalion Commander of 62IB, 15IB, and 12IB, all of 3ID, PA; G3 at 3ID; Deputy Brigade Commander, 1002nd Bde; Commander of Task Force GenSan; Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for CMO, U7, and Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Operations, U3 of the Eastern Mindanao Command, AFP.

Moreover, he distinguished himself in the field of intelligence, combat, and CMO tactics in the field. These leadership skills made him a recipient of numerous awards and commendations to include his Distinguished Service Stars for services rendered in positions of major responsibility; Gold Cross Medals for gallantry in combat; Bronze Cross Medal; Gawad sa Kaunlaran Medal; Military Merit Medals for combat, intelligence, and administrative accomplishments; Silver Wing Medals; Sagisag ng Ulirang Kawal; Long Service Medals; Wounded Personnel Medal; and Military Commendation Medals among others. He also received various plaques, commendations, and honors both on the private and public sectors. Moreover, BGEN GUBAT was a recipient of Heroism Medal; and Medalya ng Pambihirang Paglilingkod from the Philippine National Police.

A Visayan, BRIGADIER GENERAL GUBAT was born on 30 May 1967, marking his roots in Margus, Glan, Saranggani. He is happily married to the former Neneth Valor, an entrepreneur and they are blessed with a son named James Christian.
