The 1102nd Infantry "Ganarul" Brigade celebrates its 4th Founding Anniversary held at its Headquarters in Barangay Tanduh Bato, Luuk, Sulu on May 2, 2023 with a theme, "Limbang Mahugut tudju pa Kasajahitraan iban Kasambuhan sin Lupah Sug: Committed Partner towards Peace and Development of Lupah Sug".
In his remarks, Brig. Gen. Giovanni T. Franza, Commander of 1102nd Brigade said, "Today marks a significant milestone of our unit as we reflect our 4 years of journey towards the peace and security in the province of Sulu. We recognize our partnerships with our local government units. Rest assured that we will continue to our selfless service to achieve peace in our Area of Responsibility."
Meanwhile, Sulu Governor Hon. Abdusakur M. Tan, who is the Guest of Honor and Speaker, extended his heartfelt thanks to 1102nd Bde for their untiring efforts and support to the province of Sulu.
“For the last 5 decades, we have been fighting the same war and peace is very elusive. So many attempted and all of them failed, only this division and brigades that have brought us this kind of peaceful situation in Sulu. Malaki na ang pinagbago, kaya nagpapasalamat kami sa mga kasundaluhan na patuloy ang pagbibigay serbisyo dito sa ating lalawigan.”
Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio, Commander of the Joint Task Force Sulu and 11th Infantry "Alakdan" Division also commended the brigade saying, “The 1102Bde have played a critical role in our campaign in ending the local armed conflict. You were able to perform and exceeded my expectations and helped in the improvement of the security landscape in Sulu. As we march on another year, I count on the Ganarul Troopers to never rest and never let your guards down as there are works to be done. Let’s us continue working together to give the best service to the people of Sulu,” Maj. Gen. Patrimonio said.
Among the highlights of the event were the inauguration of the brigade's newly-constructed multipurpose area and theawarding of Plaque of Appreciations to the civilian stakeholders.
The event was graced by the presence of former Cong. Munir M. Arbison, Representative of 2nd District of Sulu, JTF Sulu Battalion Commander and staff, and partner stakeholders of 1102Bde.
