Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio, Commander of 11th Infantry "Alakdan" Division and Joint Task Force Sulu presided over the Joint Change of Command Ceremony at its headquarters in Camp Teodulfo, Bautista, Jolo, Sulu on May 12, 2023.
During the ceremony, Lt. Col. Rey N. Delima relinquished his Command of the 21st Infantry "Invincible" Battalion to LT. Col. Homer A. Estolas, as he will lead the 41st Infantry "Partner for Peace" Battalion. Likewise, Lt. Col. Michael P. Colanta, the outgoing Commanding Officer of 41IB, assumed Command of 45th Infantry "Gallant" Battalion from Lt. Col. Estolas, the outgoing Commanding Officer.
Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Edmond S. Lanzar took helm of the 15th Civil-Military Operations "Bainglasahun" Battalion from Lt. Col. Elson G. Bellena, outgoing Commanding Officer. Lt. Col. Bellena was awarded with the Military Merit Medal for his meritorious and invaluable services rendered from August 8, 2022 to May 12, 2023.
"This ceremony signifies that we are focus and serious that our gains in our previous campaign will be sustained and intensified which will lead to achieve peace and stability in Sulu. It will also bring dynamism and regeneration to our organization for these leaders will bring innovative ideas in their respective units, " said Maj. Gen. Patrimonio.
"My guidance is for all of you to remain laser-focused on the job on hand. Do not let your guard down and never allow complacency to set within your units. Together, let us continue marching forward in developing the 11ID into a strong and reliable force that the people of Lupasug can depend on," Maj. Gen. Patrimonio concluded.
The Change of Command Ceremony is a military tradition the represents the formal transition of authority, responsibility, and leadership in a unit.
