Congressman Samier A. Tan, Representative of 1st District of Sulu, officiated the inauguration of the Candidate Soldiers Mess Hall at 11th Division "Mastal" Training School in Camp Bud Datu, Barangay Tagbak, Indanan, Sulu on May 23, 2023.
According to Col. Jose Leomar Doctolero, Commandant of 11th Division Training School, "The inauguration of the project was timely and useful for training our candidate soldiers and will serve as venue where they will foster their camaraderie. This also boost our readiness to execute the training of our Candidate Soldiers."
In his remarks, Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio, Commander of the 11th Infantry "Alakdan" Division and Joint Task Force (JTF) Sulu expressed his gratitude to Congressman Samier Tan, "This Mess Hall that is intended for our candidate soldiers will be of great help in their training and development as warriors and agent of peace. This will become a vital component of our school that will provide space for our candidate soldiers to gather, socialize and refuel. It is also an area where memories are made, friendship are formed and brilliant ideas are shared."
Mean while, Congressman Samier Tan, as guest of honor and speaker, expressed his gratitude and commend the Alakdan Division for their efforts in keeping the province of Sulu safe and reiterate the differences between what Sulu before and today. "Ibang-iba na po ang pinabago ng Sulu, nagpapasalamat ako dahil sa walang sawang suporta na ibinigay niyo sa akin at sa mga tao dito sa Sulu. Itong brotherhood natin na Tausugs at kasundaluhan ay ibang iba na kaysa dati. Pamilya na ang turingan natin dito sa Sulu."
