Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio, Commander of the 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division officiated the Change of Office Ceremony of the Office of the Chief of Staff at its headquarters in Camp Teodulfo Bautista, Barangay Busbus, Jolo, Sulu on June 1, 2023.
Col. Gregorio S. Nieveras, who served as Chief of Staff of 11ID from March 31, 2023 to June 1, 2023 said, "I am honored to serve in this role and for the experiences and lessons I have learned. To all the Offficers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resource of the Alakdan Division, my deepest gratitude for your support and confidence given to me."
Meanwhile, Col. Andrew B. Bacala, the newly-installed Chief of Staff said, "I would like to thank the Commander, 11ID for the trust and confidence entrusted to me in this position of major responsibility. To the staff of the Division, let us work hand in hand to ensure the accomplishment of our mission. Rest assured that I will continue what my predecessor have started in the best of my ability."
In his message, Maj. Gen. Patrimonio said, "Serving as a Chief of Staff is the most challenging task, thus such position requires an officer who have skills and knowledge both in operation and administration. Col. Nieveras performed his mandated task even in a short period of time in addition for being the Inspector General. To Col. Bacala, take charge of OCS. I am confident that your experience will become the best asset in achieving your tasks."
Col. Bacala is a member of PMA "Bantay Laya" Class of 1994. Prior to his position, he served as the Intelligence Chief of the Division and Commanding Officer of the 11th Military Intelligence Battalion. He is also a seasoned combat officer and recipient of Distinguish Conduct Star, the second highest award given to personnel of AFP for gallantry in action.
