The 11th Infantry "Alakdan" Division donned rank to the newly-commissioned Reserve Officer during the Flag Raising Ceremony at its headquarters in Camp Teodulfo Bautista, Barangay Busbus, Jolo, Sulu on July 3, 2023.
Brig. Gen. Giovanni T. Franza, General Officer In-Charge of 11th Infantry "Alakdan" Division assisted by Col. Jose Emmanuel Mariano, Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retirees Affairs donned rank to Capt. Marivel T. Sarabi, College Dean of Sulu State College School of Education.
In her speech, Capt. Sarabi shared her life story that motivates her and pushes her into what she became today. She also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Command and to the 906th Community Defense Center, Ready Reserve Battalion led by Lt. Col. Marlon M. Graciano.
"I grew up as a woman who is achieving, visionary, and a person who is passionate in doing things. With all the challenges I faced in life, for all of my sacrifices has been paid off and my vision became reality. I would like to thank all the people who is supporting me and I assure you that I will do my very best to serve the people of Sulu."
Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Franza congratulated the newly-commissioned Reserve Officer for her voluntarism and dedication to serve saying, “Today we gathered here to witness and celebrate a remarkable individual, Capt. Sarabi. This is a momentous occasion that marks not only her dedication to her country but also her exceptional leadership and commitment to service. Thank you for joining the reserve force. As she dons her rank as a Captain in the reserve force, we recognized that this is not just a title or a position but a responsibility. We are confident that the reserve force will continue to recruit more efficient and professionals that is willing to serve for the stability of the province of Sulu and the whole country,” said Brig. Gen. Franza.
The activity was witnessed by the Officers, Enlisted Personnel, and the civilian human resource of the 11th Infantry Division and civilian stakeholders.
