Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio, Commander of the 11th Infantry "Alakdan" Division graced the 21st Refilling Anniversary of the 35th Infantry "Makamandag" Battalion at its headquarters in Barangay Latih, Patikul, Sulu on July 15, 2023.
According to 35IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Dominggo S.Robles Jr., "As we look back over the years since the event we are marking today and reflect on how it shaped us as Makamandag Battalion, we celebrate an important milestone in the 35IB history."
"Hindi namin magagawa ang lahat ng ito kung wala ang tulong at suporta ng 11ID at Brigade, lalong-lalo na ang koordinasyon ng PNP, Local Government Unit, Partner Stakeholders at ang kumonidad, ang 35IB ay palaging maaasahan, matatag at makamandag sa pagtupad ng aming sinumpaang tungkulin," Lt. Col Robles added.
In the said activity, Maj. Gen. Patrimonio awarded the plaque of recognition to Ssg. Elpdeio E. Ursaiz Jr. as the Best Staff NCO, Ssg. Reyji S. Monsales as Best Platoon Sgt, Ssg. Angelo B. Sentoy as First Sargent of the Year, Ssg. Jessie E. Enterina as the Best Enlisted Personnel and 4 Best CAFGU award. He also conferred the plaque of recognition to the 13 loyalty awardees who have rendered continued service for 20 years or more as Makamandag trooper.
Maj. Gen. Patrimonio lauded the accomplishments of the 35th Infantry Battalion in its Area of Operations and urged them to remain committed to its mission.
"As you March for another year I count on every Makamandag Troopers to sustain and even to intensify the noble works that you're doing. Never rest on your laurels and never let your guard down. There are still a lot of works to be done and mission to be accomplished."
"Tunay na malayo na ang narating ng 35IB at malaki na rin ang pagbabago sa inyong area of operation, nakakatuwa na ang bunga ng inyong mga sakripisyo ay unti-unti na nating nakikita," Maj. Gen. Patrimonio concluded.
Also in attendance during the activity was the 1102nd Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Giovanni T. Franza, 1103rd Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Christopher C. Tampus, 11ID Staffs, 11ID Battalion Commanders, PNP, and partner stakeholders of the 35IB.
The 35th Infantry Battalion celebrated its 21st anniversary since its activation on year 2002. And became an organic battalion of the 11th Infantry Division in the year 2018.
