JTF Sulu reaches out island community, brings hope to children's dreams

The Joint Task Force (JTF) Sulu, through the 41st Infantry "Partner for Peace" Battalion spearheaded an outreach program at Teomabal Island, Barangay Poblacion, Maimbung, Sulu on August 15, 2023.

Hon. Ahmadjan M. Hassan, representative of Maimbung Mayor Shihla Tan-Hayudini said, "Sa araw na ito ay pinagkaisa tayo sa pagbibigay ng serbisyo dito sa isla ng Teomabal upang maabutan ng tulong ang komunidad dito. Patuloy tayong magkaisa sa mga ganitong inisyatibo at layunin."

In his remarks, Brig. Gen. Taharuddin P. Ampatuan, Deputy Commander of JTF Sulu said, "Naging mapayapa at maayos na ang probinsya ng Sulu at dahil rito ay uusbong at muling matatamasa ang kaunlaran, turismo, at kasaganaan dito sa Bangsa Sug. Makakaasa kayo na nakahandang tumulong ang inyong kasundaluhan lalo na sa mga marginalized sectors na kagaya ninyo."

A total of 61 households were able to benefit from the newly-constructed and first public comfort room in the island, free medical check up, immunization, medicines, food packs, clothing, and trash cans. Moreso, the children of the community received school supplies, toys, slippers and enjoyed free ice cream, magic tricks performance and parlor games.

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio, Commander of JTF Sulu said, "Binibigyang halaga ng inyo pong mga kasundaluhan ang pagdadala ng serbisyo ng gobyerno sa mga nangangailangan kagaya ninyo. Makakaasa kayo na patuloy ang ating pakikipagtulungan sa ating lokal na pamahalaan at ibang stakeholders upang maihatid ang serbisyo at kaunlaran sa ating mga komunidad sa Sulu."

The program was made possible through the collaboration of the LGU of Maimbung, Rural Health Unit of Maimbung, Maimbung Youth Organization, Camp Bautista Station Hospital, Tactical Operations Group Sulu & Tawi-Tawi, and 15th Civil-Military Operations Battalion.
