Camp Bautista, Jolo, Sulu - September 20, 2023
Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. visited the Headquarters of Joint Task Force (JTF) Sulu in Camp Teodulfo Bautista, Barangay Busbus, Jolo, Sulu on September 18, 2023.
During the visit, Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio, JTF Sulu Commander, presented to the DND Secretary the Former Violent Extremists (FVEs) who returned to the folds of the law along with their firearms. Moreso, Maj. Gen Patrimonio provided an information briefing to SND underscoring the improved security situation in Sulu and updates on the peace and security campaign of the JTF Sulu.
In his talk to troops, Sec. Teodoro Jr. said, "Narito po ako sa utos na din ng ating mahal na pangulo upang ipaabot ang pasasalamat sa mga naging tagumpay ng JTF Sulu. Nangangako po kaming pangalagaan ang morale and welfare at kapakanan ninyo maging ang inyong pamilya. Umaasa din ako na patuloy nating gawin ang trabaho ng maayos at matagumpay."
Sec. Teodoro Jr. also graced the 633rd Founding Anniversy of Local Governance and Public Administration in Sulu as keynote speaker at Barangay Poblacion, Maimbung, Sulu.
In attendance during the visit were Maj. Gen. Steve D. Crespillo, WestMinCom Commander; JTF Sulu's Brigade and Battalion Commanders; and JTF Sulu Staff.
