The 11th Infantry "Alakdan" Division held a 3-day Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) Leaders' Symposium 2023 through the Army Leadership Development and Education Center (ALDEC) at its headquarters in Camp Teodulfo Bautista Jolo, Sulu on September 26-28, 2023.
According to SMS Bernard M Navarro, Command Sergeant Major of 11ID, "This is the first Senior NCO Leaders' Symposium that we conducted. A total of 80 Sergeant Major and First Sergeants from the brigades and battalion and Chief Clerks from the General, Special, Technical and Personal staffs participated the symposium. This is an opportunity for the Senior NCOs to further hone their leadership skills, competencies, and capabilities."
FCMS Feliciano M. Lazo, AFP Sergeant Major, who is the Keynote Speaker, emphasized the role of NCOs. He also expressed his profound gratitude to all the participants and conveyed the guidance of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP) on the key responsibilities of a Senior NCO.
During the activity, the participants shared their best practices and lessons learned from both the administration and operations of their respective units.
In his closing remarks, Brig. Gen. Tarahudin Ampatuan, Assistant Division Commander of 11ID commended the initiative of the Division Sergeant Major and ALDEC. He also encouraged the Senior NCOs to put in actions on what they have learned in the activity.
"I want to express my gratitude to all NCOs for giving us the support in trying to achieve our mission. Without you we cannot have done it. Let us ensure to boost the morale and welfare of our troops. We must continue to do our mandated task with utmost dedication and passion to service," Brig. Gen. Ampatuan concluded.
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio, Commander of the 11th Infantry "Alakdan" Division and Joint Task Force (JTF) Orion extended his sincere gratitude to all the participants of Senior NCO leaders’ Symposium saying, “This is great opportunity to further broaden your knowledge through gaining insights and ideas based on your unit’s best practices and lesson learned that could enhance your performance as an effective Senior NCO leaders. You are the vital component of our organization and we need to optimize your leadership skills as we aimed of becoming a world-class, multi-mission ready and cross-domain capable.”
