The 32nd Infantry "Daredevil" Battalion welcomed its new Commanding Officer in a Change of Command Ceremony held at its headquarters in Barangay Matalin, Malabang, Lanao Del Sul on September 29, 2023.
Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio, Commander of the 11th Infantry "Alakdan" Division and Joint Task Force (JTF) Orion presided over the ceremony were Lt. Col. Edward B Viteño relinquished the command to the incoming commanding officer Lt. Col. Edmond S Lanzar.
Prior to his position, Lt. Col. Lanzar is the former Acting Chief of Staff for Intelligence, G2 and the Acting Commamding Officer of 15th Civil-Military "Bainglasahun" Battalion.
During the ceremony, Maj. Gen. Patrimonio pinned the Military Merit Medal and awarded Lt. Col. Viteño with the Plaque of Recognition for his exemplary performance of duty that enormously contributed to the mission of JTF Orion.
Lt. Col. Viteño took the opportunity to thanked the Command and his troops for the remarkable experience as battalion commander. "I'm filled with gratitude, pride and profound sense of responsibility leading this remarkable battalion. My deepest gratitude to brave men and women of 32IB for their unwavering commitment and relentless spirit. The legacy of our battalion is in capable hands, I have no doubts that you will continue to excel. I will cherished our bond for the rest of my life."
Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Lanzar expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity entrusted to his as the newly installed Commanding Officer of one of the fightest Battalion.
"I am honor to serve and I deeply appreciated the trust and confidence that the Command placed in me. To the men and women of 32IB, I look forward to be working with each and eveyone of you. Together, we shall continue to strive for excellence and let us face challenges ahead with fortitude and determination," Lt. Col. Lanzar said.
In his message, Maj. Gen. Patrimonio thanked and lauded Lt. Col. Viteño for his excellent leadership. Likewise, Maj. Gen. Patrimonio challenged Lt. Col. Lanzar to lead the battalion in greater heights.
"For almost 2 years of being the battalion Commander of 32IB, Lt. Col. Viteño has displayed the brand of leadership that makes him and his unit well-loved by the people. 32IB has made significant achievements during his incumbency."
"Lt. Col. Lanzar is a seasoned and experienced officer. With his wide range of experience I am confident he will continue, what Lt. Col. Viteño has done in ushering the unit to prominence. I urge everyone to continue our resolve of becoming a world-class army that people of Lanao Del Sur deserve," Maj. Gen. Patrimonio concluded.
Present during the event were Brig. Gen. Giovanni T. Franza, Brigade Commannder of 1102nd Bde; Brig. Gen. Yegor Rey P Baroquillo Jr, 103rd Bde; JTF Orion staff and partner stakeholders of 32IB.
