Partner for Peace Battalion celebrates 48th Founding Anniversary

Camp Bautista, Jolo, Sulu - December 9, 2023

Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio, Commander of the 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division and Joint Task Force (JTF) Orion graced the 41st Infantry "Partner for Peace" Battalion's 48th Founding Anniversary anchored with a theme, "41IB @48: Sustaining the Partnership for Peace, Security and Development in Lupah Sug” held at its headquarters in Barangay Matatal, Maimbung, Sulu on December 8, 2023.

In his welcome remarks, Lt. Col. Ray N. De Lima, Commander of 41IB expressed his gratitude to the men and women of the 41IB and their partner stakeholders for their support to the unit. “Indeed, it is a momentous occasion filled with pride and honor for the remarkable journey that this battalion has embarked upon. As we celebrate this significant milestone, I commend all troops of 41IB for your unwavering efforts and to our partner stakeholders for the support. Let us continue and strengthen our partnership as we move forward,” said Lt. Col. De Lima.

Meanwhile, Sulu Governor Abdusakur M. Tan extended sincere gratitude for the untiring support of 41IB and recognized the 11ID’s efforts saying, “Napaka laki ng tulong ng 41IB sa aking bayan lalo na ang 11ID for transforming Sulu for making it peaceful place. We cannot do it alone without the help of our security sectors and other LGUs. Sa ating pagtutulungan, nakamit natin ang matagal na nating inaasam.”

Among the highlights of the unit’s anniversary celebration were the awarding of officer and enlisted personnel and the recognition of 6 partner stakeholders including Hon. Nivocadnezar Tulawie, Mayor of Talipao; Reserve Officer Lt. Col. Ajan Ajijul, Sulu 1st District Engineer Office; and Hon. Mariam M Indal, Focal Chairperson of Barangay Lunggang, Maimbung for their contributions to the peace and security campaign of the battalion.

In his message, Maj. Gen. Patrimonio lauded the 41IB for their contributions and mission accomplishments. “You made a significant contribution to the campaign to end terrorism in the province of Sulu. You have earned the respect and admiration of the people, and also became instrumental in promoting development with great emphasis on humanitarian assistance and community engagement.”

“As it marks another year, let us continue to support Sulu’s development. I also encourage you to remain vigilant, resilient and adaptable in the face of the evolving challenges and threats in your area of responsibility,” Maj. Gen. Patrimonio concluded.

Part of the celebration is the conduct of 41IB-Sportfest 2023 as part of its pre-anniversary activities which includes basketball, volleyball games, and fun games participated by the troops of 41IB.
