Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio, Commander of the Joint Task Force Orion and 11th Infantry "Alakdan" Division warmly welcomed Archbishop Charles John Brown, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines/Dean of the Diplomatic Corps & Ambassador of the Holy See to the Philippines upon his arrival at the Jolo Airport in Barangay Busbus, Jolo, Sulu on February 4, 2024.
Abp. Brown officiated the holy mass in commemoration of Bishop de Jesus's 27th Death Anniversary held at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cathedral followed by the blessing of Bishop de Jesus's tomb. It was a solemn occasion that brought together all of the faithful Catholic believers of Sulu coming from the civilian and the security sector.
Thereafter Abp. Brown visited the headquarters of 11th Infantry Division and expressed his gratitude saying, "I am delighted with the warm welcome you have extended to me. Traveling across continents to celebrate holy masses has been a rewarding experience. Through my journey, I have gained a deeper understanding of my vocation, destiny, and my role in this world. Let us always remember that every time we celebrate a holy mass, we are in the true presence of Jesus."
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Patrimonio expressed his profound appreciation to Abp. Brown for taking the time to visit the division saying, "We are blessed and honored that you visited Sulu, we at the 11th Infantry Division are very fortunate to have you. This will help boost our soldiers' morale and deepen their trust in God while we perform our mandated task of sustaining the lasting peace in the province of Sulu."
The successful visit of the Apostolic Nuncio and other foreign delegates is a testament that the Province of Sulu is relatively peaceful and is ready to welcome tourists and foreign travelers, allowing them to visit the province's scenic views, rich culture, and deep history with a sense of security. The 11th Infantry Division and JTF Orion together with the Local Government Unit of Sulu, and other partner agencies will continue on preserving the peace, stability, and long-lasting harmony in the province.
