SUPPLY BATTALION PREPARED VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS OF AARM 2016

photo5T he Philippine Army hosted the 26th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) 2016 from November 28 to December 07, 2016. It was held at Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac and was participated by 10 member states. The event traditionally signifies a strong commitment to unity, friendship, and interaction among ASEAN countries. Through this friendly competition, the Philippine Army, thru AARM 2016 Organizing Committee, aimed for fostering greater understanding and clear the way for harmonious cooperation among its participants.

As the Philippine Army hosted the historical event, the AARM 2016 Executive Committee did all its best to efficiently meet all the logistical requirements of the activity and, at the same time, smoothly accommodate all the participant’s requirements.

With this, the Supply Battalion, LSG, ASCOM was tasked to provide 97 units of 1 ¼ Ton Truck KM 450, four units of KM 451 Ambulance, and two units of KM 452 Repair Shop Van that was utilized for the duration of the activity.

As early as September this year, Supply Battalion has been busy preparing and providing logistical support in preparation for the conduct of AARM 2016. On November 17 2016, Supply Battalion helped organize the vehicle requirements for the event. As part of the final preparation, the convoy formations were organized according to countries wherein the vehicles were distributed prior to its dispatch to Camp O’Donnell, Tarlac where the Opening Ceremony was held.

Supply Battalion has also prepared the standby vehicles which were then parked at the POL Dump Compound to ensure its readiness by the time that it was dispatched.
