2LSG RESPONDED TO THE C-130 AIRCRAFT CRASHED INCIDENT

           The 2nd Logistics Support Group, ASCOM, PA is currently playing an active role in coordinating, synchronizing, and integrating the logistics support to all its attached Forward Service Support Units in Mindanao in order to bridge the gap and responsively address the needs of its supported units.

             The proactive posture of the unit paved the way for the conduct of the strategic planning when the C-130 Aircraft with tail no.5125 with (96) personnel and crews on board crashed during its landing at vicinity of Brgy. Bangkal, Patikul,Sulu (near Jolo Airport) last 04 1100 July 2021 (Sunday), killing (49) and injuring (29) personnel during the accident.

             The 2LSG immediately established Incident Command Post under the leadership of COL EMMANUEL G ALILIN OS (GSC) PA, Group Commander of 2LSG in order to organize, integrate, synchronize all efforts pertaining to logistics support operation. Also, the unit directly coordinated with U4, WESTMINCOM, AFP; G3, ASCOM, PA and Mindanao-based FSSU’s for the inventory of mortuarial items and immediate issuance of stock transfer.

           Upon arrival at Majini Pier, Naval Station Romulo Espaldon, Camp Navarro, Upper Calarian, Zamboanga City, the (49) recovered cadavers (12 PAF and 37 PA) were brought to different Funeral Homes of Zamboanga City. Subsequently, some identified cadavers were transported to their respective residences utilizing three (3) units of KM450, one (1) unit of KM250 of 2LSG; three (3) units of KM450, seven (7) units of M35 of 9FSSU; and two (2) units of KM450 and one (1) unit of KM250 of 54EBde.

               The (29) injured casualties were subsequently transported to different hospitals within Zamboanga City for treatment

            As of 04 August 2021, there are still sixteen (16) unidentified cadavers laying-in at Tangan Gym, NSRE, Bagong Calarian, Zamboanga City and still waiting for the DNA Test result conducted by SOCO Team for identification.

          The 2nd Logistics Support Group continue to supervise, monitor, and provide the needed transportation assistance and mortuarial requirements for the C-130 Aircraft crashed fatalities and will continue to strive in bridging the gap as it moves forward towards a path of sustainable and responsive logistics operations in support to Philippine Army units as a testament to the unit’s genuine transformation.
