Army Commanding General visits Armor Division

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay visited the Armor “Pambato” Division (AD) on Monday, January 27 at Camp O’ Donnell, Capas, Tarlac.

During the talk to the troops, the CGPA called the soldiers to remain aggressive in neutralizing the terrorist groups and continue conducting peace and development initiatives in support to the President’s directive of ending the CPP-NPA insurgency by 2022.

Moreover, Gapay also lauded AD’s efforts last year that resulted in the firepower upgrade of the Armored Personnel Carriers and the recovery of 356 firearms both from operation engagements and surrender of former rebels in Mindanao.

In December 2017, the CGPA served as the Commander of the then Mechanized Infantry Division before it was renamed as the Armor Division, where he spearheaded its various capability upgrades in terms of armor, aviation, and air defense.

“[Let us] sustain the momentum in capacitating the Philippine Army towards greater mission effectiveness. With our core values of honor, patriotism, and duty, together, let us make the Philippine Army a world-class army that is a source of national pride,” said Gapay.#
