FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City - The Philippine Army welcomed its new Acting Chief of Staff on November 18, 2024, at the Philippine Army Officers Clubhouse, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Army Inspector General Maj. Gen. Ferdinand B. Napuli assumed as the Acting Army Chief of Staff succeeding Maj. Gen. Potenciano C. Camba who bowed out of service after a military career that spanned 37 years.
Maj. Gen. Napuli, who assumed the Army Inspector General post in September 2024, previously led the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne). He also held several key positions such as Deputy Group Commander of the Presidential Security Command then known as PSG, Task Force Commander of TF COVID-19 PSG, and Group Inspector General of PSG in Malacañang. Maj. Gen. Napuli is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) "Tanglaw Diwa" Class of 1992.
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Camba previously led the 1002nd Brigade, 10th Infantry Division as well as other units and offices such as the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel, OG1, PA, the 2nd and 3rd Special Forces Battalions of SFR(A). He is a member of PMA "Sambisig" Class of 1991.
“To Maj. Gen. Napuli, I am counting on you to continue the directions set forth by Maj. Gen. Camba. I was once in your position serving as The Inspector General and the Acting CSPA. The task was not easy but was fulfilling,” the presiding officer Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido said in his keynote address.
