FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Commanding General Philippine Army made his official visit to the Army Support Command (ASCOM) and led the awarding of Proficient Status Medallion to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Battalion (EOD) here on Friday, September 25, 2020.
Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana was received by Maj. Gen. Glenn Cruz, ASCOM Commander together with Col. Leo Edward Caranto, ASCOM Chief of Staff. He also led the pinning of Proficient Status Medallion on EOD Battalion’s plaque for providing support to the administrative and operational requirements of Army units.
ASCOM is primarily responsible for the delivery of various logistic supplies. Resource and sustainment, from basic supplies to complex military equipment, is central to the success of the Army’s mission.
The CGPA tagged ASCOM as ‘the providers’ and highlighted their role in supporting the units in the frontline through logistic support system.
“If we cannot provide the mission-essential requirements of our units in the frontlines, we may not be triumphant in our wars and battles. Your role as providers through your logistic support system equipped our soldiers and enabled them to focus on the mission in serving the people and securing the land,” said Lt. Gen. Sobejana in his remarks.#
