Army installs new acting TRADOC commander

The Philippine Army installed an acting commander of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Philippine Army on January 30, 2023 at Camp O’Donnell, Santa Lucia, Capas, Tarlac.
 
Brig. Gen. Alvin V. Flores formally assumed as the acting TRADOC Commander in a Change of Command ceremony. Prior to his new post, Brig. Gen. Flores served as the Deputy Commander of TRADOC. He also led other units such as Director of Doctrine and Capability Integration Center (DACIC), TRADOC; Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations (G7) and Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel (G1) of the 5th Infantry “Startroopers” Division (5ID); and Commander of 17th Infantry Battalion (17IB) under 5ID. Brig. Gen. Flores is a member of the Philippine Military Academy "Tanglaw-Diwa" Class of 1992 and holds three graduate degrees – a Master in Business Administration from De La Salle University, Master in Public Management from Development Academy of the Philippines, and Master in National Security Administration from National Defense College of the Philippines.
 
Meanwhile, outgoing Commander Maj. Gen. Peter Angelo L. Ramos will bow out of service after almost 39 years in the military. Before being a TRADOC Commander, he also headed other units as Brigade Commanders of the 1102nd Infantry Brigade under the 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division (11ID) and 501st Infantry Brigade under 5ID; Battalion Commanders of 1st Special Forces and 3rd Special Forces Battalions under the Special Operations Command (SOCOM). Maj. Gen. Ramos is a member of the Philippine Military Academy "Maringal" Class of 1988.
 
The presiding officer Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. conveyed his well wishes to Brig. Gen. Flores as he takes on a new role and to Maj. Gen. Ramos on his success. “To Maj. Gen. Ramos, happy retirement, sir and to Brig. Gen. Flores, congratulations and good luck to your future endeavors as acting commander of Army TRADOC,” said Lt. Gen. Brawner in his message.
