Philippine Army joins 2024 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

Offices from the Headquarters Philippine Army and its major units participated in the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) at various locations all over the country on March 25, 2024.

Army soldiers and civilian human resource from HPA offices and post units executed the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure at their respective workstations at the blast of the siren, which signaled the start of the drill. All personnel converged at various flagpole areas, parade grounds, and open areas for accounting and consolidation.

The NSED is a quarterly exercise that aims to enhance the preparedness of government units, line agencies, and other organizations. It also seeks to educate the general public on the measures to take when an earthquake occurs.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido affirms the command’s continuous support for all programs and initiatives of the national government and assures the public of the Army's constant readiness to respond to any disaster.
