21 newly promoted Philippine Army generals ready to serve and take bigger responsibilities

A total of 21 newly promoted Philippine Army generals took their oath before President and Commander-in-Chief Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., signifying their allegiance to the Constitution and serving the Filipino people, at the Malacañan Palace, Manila City on May 13, 2024.
 
21 out of the 39 newly promoted military officers belong to the Philippine Army. Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido accompanied AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. during the oath-taking ceremony.
 
The President administered the oath-taking of the Army generals who received their promotion early this year. The promotees were led by Armed Forces of the Philippines Inspector General Lt. Gen. Steve D. Crespillo, Army Vice Commander Maj. Gen. Leodevic B. Guinid, 10th Infantry Division (10ID) Commander Maj. Gen. Allan D. Hambala, Intelligence Service Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) Chief Maj. Gen. Edmundo G. Peralta, AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, J7, Maj. Gen. Arvin R. Lagamon, Civil Relations Service Armed Forces of the Philippines (CRSAFP) Commander Maj. Gen. Ramon P. Zagala, and 10ID Assistant Division Commander Brig. Gen. Febie N. Lamerez.
 
The Commander-in-Chief, in his keynote address, emphasized the generals' added stars conferred upon them are reminders of their heavier responsibility to the country and the people. "Huwag natin silang biguin. Iyan ang kapalit ng bago ninyong ranggo. Iyan ang sukli sa kanilang pananalig sa inyo," President Marcos highlighted.
