Philippine Army, Australian Army troops enhance interoperability in Exercise Kasangga

The Philippine Army, through the 5th Infantry Division (5ID), and Australian Army teams commenced bilateral training activities under Exercise “Kasangga” 24-1 in Gamu, Isabela on May 15, 2024.
 
A total of 100 personnel from the 86th Infantry Battalion, 5ID are training side-by-side with 50 Australian Army soldiers on Reconnaissance, Mortar, Drone Operations, Logistics, Signal Operations, Jungle and Urban, Tactical Combat Casualty Care and Breaching Operations, and Counter-Terrorism Operations.
 
The Philippines has a strong and enduring defense and security partnership with Australia. The annual Exercise Kasangga bolsters Army-to-Army relationship, improves capabilities, and fosters regional stability and security.
