Army rescues 1,500 affected individuals in Rizal

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – The Philippine Army troops, through the 2nd Infantry Division (2ID), conducted rescue operations for 1,500 individuals amid Super Typhoon Carina in the province of Rizal on July 24-25, 2024.

Together with various Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and local government agencies, three Disaster Response Units (DRUs) of 2ID and troops from the 2nd Civil-Military Operations Battalion (2CMOBn) and 80th Infantry Battalion (80IB) assisted typhoon-affected families and individuals from their residents to designated evacuation centers.

Moreover, the Philippine Army is placed on red alert status and continues to deploy troops from line units while monitoring all human and material resources that are available for duty and deployment.

The Army leadership ensured the functional preparedness of the Army’s DRU teams in assisting all communities during national emergencies. It can be noted that CALABARZON suffered from heavy rainfall during the lashing of Super Typhoon Carina.
