Army eyes inventive solutions to address threats amid regional tensions

The Philippine Army joined the 5th iteration of the Asian Defense and Security (ADAS) Exhibition from September 25 to 27, 2024 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.

ADAS 2024, with the theme “Building on a Decade of Defense Capability”, serves as a platform for showcasing cutting-edge defense technologies and systems that would create valuable opportunities for partnerships and cooperation.

Further, this exhibit provides the Army with an array of defense equipment, technology, and platforms that it can consider to become ready and constantly evolving to fulfill its role in complementing the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept aimed at defending our territory and sovereignty amid tensions in the Indo-Pacific Region.

“As we face various challenges, transformation is even more essential. Just as David confronted Goliath, we are taking cues on handling formidable opponents by embracing a strategic mindset and forging inventive solutions. Your innovations and technology in this modern warfare can help countries such as ours to be responsive and ready to face the challenges ahead in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous operational environment,” Army Chief Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido said emphasizing the role of ADAS in fostering collaboration among key stakeholders in defense, security, and crisis management.
