FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – The Philippine Army installed its 20th Sergeant Major in a Change of Chief of Office Ceremony at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on October 16, 2024.
Army Chief Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido presided over the ceremony the where the outgoing PA Sergeant Major Chief Master Sergeant (CMS) Rogelio P. Caacbay passed the Office of the Army Sergeant Major (OASM) mace to his successor CMS Marvin M. Jurane who previously served as the 2nd Infantry Division Sergeant Major.
The Army Sergeant Major is a personal staff of the Army Commanding General mandated to oversee the Enlisted Personnel Corps including pursuing the professionalization of troops while addressing their morale, welfare and discipline.
“To our newly appointed Army Sergeant Major, I am confident that you will continue to deliver outstanding service to our enlisted personnel. Stay engaged and take the lead in developing programs that address the challenges of our times,” Lt. Gen. Galido said in his remarks.
