Army rescues flooding victims amid “Kristine” onslaught

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City - The Philippine Army, together with local disaster responders, rescued families affected by widespread flooding due to Tropical Storm “Kristine” on October 23, 2024.

Humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) teams from the 5th Infantry Division, 7th Infantry Division, 2nd Infantry Division, 8th Infantry Division and 9th Infantry Division rescued families affected by flooding in their respective areas of responsibility.

The 525th Combat Engineer Battalion of the Combat Engineer Regiment also deployed a light Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team composed of 18 personnel to the headquarters of the AFP Southern Luzon Command (SOLCOM) in Camp Nakar, Lucena City, Quezon.

The Philippine Army leadership assures the public of the HADR teams’ operational readiness and commitment to save lives amid the massive flooding brought about by tropical storm “Kristine.
