Camp O’Donnell, CAPAS, TARLAC - The Armor Pambato Division held a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the Armor Maintenance Depot today, July 5, 2023, with MGen Rey B Alemania PA, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics J4, AFP, as a keynote speaker.
MGen Facundo O. Palafox, PA, Commander, Armor Division, expressed his gratitude as the unit celebrates to concretize the plans and programs in providing a better sustainment facility essential in maintaining the operational readiness of Armor key assets in the command.
"As we march towards a modernized Armor Force, it is incumbent upon us to establish an effective maintenance system that includes a maintenance depot and a tank shed such as this to provide a venue for our sustainment operations. Today will not be possible without the support and assistance of our friends from the General Headquarters, Armed Forces of the Philippines, represented by MGen Alemania, and the local construction industry, particularly the La Isabelle Development Corporation and the Defense Industry from Elbit Systems from Israel. We look forward to more solid partnerships with our local and international stakeholders that can help realize our desire to develop our armor capabilities and, in a greater scheme of things, help us contribute to a credible land defense posture," said MGen Palafox IV.
MGen Alemnia also said in his speech that the groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the Armed Forces—a chapter of growth, development, and excellence. It represented a source of pride, honor, and glory for our nation. It is also a chapter of peace, stability, and prosperity.
"As we break ground today, let us also break ground in our pursuit of peace, progress, and prosperity for our country and its people. Let us work together to make this depot a model of excellence and innovation. We must uphold our values of patriotism, professionalism, and integrity, and above all, let us always remember that we are one nation, one people, one armed forces,"ended MGen Alemania.
