BGEN DANILO D BENAVIDES PA is currently the assistant division commander of 5th infantry (star) division, philippine army. he was born on 29 october 1968 in anao, tarlac. he is a proud member of philippine military academy “sambisig” class of 1991.

BGEN BENAVIDES was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the regular force of the armed forces of the philippines on 17 february 1991 after graduating from the philippine military academy. afterwards, bgen benavides took up numerous military courses such as the basic airborne course, intel officer basic course, military intel collection course, field artillery officer basic and advance courses, and command and general staff course. in addition, bgen benavides is also a graduate of several civilian schoolings such as project planning development and management course in asian institute of management; master in public management in development academy of the philippines; and master in national security admnistration in national defense college of the philippines, quezon city. further, bgen benavides also took bachelor of sciences in electronics and communication engineering in saint louis university and master in business administration in ateneo de davao university. in the early years of his career, bgen benavides served as a platoon leader of charlie company, 73rd infantry battalion, 7th infantry division and commanded the alpha company 73rd infantry battalion, 7th infantry division from november 1993 to january 1994.

from june 2001 to february 2004, he was the chief of operations branch, office of the unified 3, northern luzon command, armed forces of the philippines. from 18 february 2004 to 30 june 2005, he is the chief of civil action branch, office of group 7, philippine army. from 01 october 2011 to 12 june 2013. he was the commanding officer of 75th infantry battalion, 6th infantry division. after his stint as battalion commander for one (1) year and eight (8) months, he became the assistant chief of staff for intelligence, g2 of 6th infantry division from june 2013 to september 2015. he then became the chief of office of unified operations, southern luzon command, armed forces of the philippines from october 2016 to october 2017. after which, he became the chief of the unified command staff, southern luzon command, armed forces of the philippines from august 2018 to july 2020. bgen benavides was then became the commander of 502nd infantry (liberator) brigade from july 2020 to february 2023. he was then designated to higher position as the assistant division commander, 5th infantry (star) division, philippine army.

BGEN BENAVIDES is a seasoned and well-decorated officer.  he is a recipient of numerous awards and decorations in the field of combat operations and command and administrative functions, foremost of which is distinguished service star for services rendered in position of major responsibility. his other awards include gawad sa kaunlaran, bronze cross medal, silver wing medal, military merit medal, sagisag ng ulirang kawal, military civic action medal, military commendation medals and several civilian letters and plaque of commendation and appreciation,  all of which were awarded for his laudable achievements in community development, social responsibility and other non-combat endeavours. he is happily married to ms raelyn valenton-benavides, and blessed with two son, danrae joniel valenton-benavides and darrel andrae valenton-benavides.
